A 90-minute live workshop where Brian Evans, CPA/PFS walks you line-by-line through your Form 1040 (and Schedule E, if applicable) to help you uncover missed opportunities, planning gaps, and potential tax strategies.

Your tax return is one of the most important financial documents you produce each year.
And yet:
Most people only look at one number: what they owe or get back.
Decisions are made reactively, not strategically.
Opportunities are often missed, year after year.
Planning is confused with filing.
Your 1040 isn’t just a form.
It’s a roadmap that reveals how money flows through your life—and where inefficiencies may exist.
The 1040 Treasure Hunt Workshop is designed to help you slow down, understand what you’re actually reporting, and identify areas where proactive tax planning could make a meaningful difference.
In this 90-minute live session, Brian Evans, CPA/PFS will guide you through your tax return so you can see what many people overlook.
You’ll learn how to:
Read and understand your Form 1040 with confidence.
Identify where income is being taxed, and why.
Spot common planning gaps that don’t show up as “mistakes.”
Understand how past tax decisions affect future flexibility.
Recognize when various strategies may be underutilized.
Review Schedule E income and expenses more strategically (for rental owners).
Ask better questions of your CPA or tax professional.
This workshop is about awareness and opportunity, not 'loopholes' or aggressive tactics.
Join us from the comfort of your home for this timely workshop.
When: Once a month at 6:30pm PST
Where: Live Zoom Workshop
Length: 90 minutes
Format: Discussion with Q&A
This workshop is a good fit if you:
Want to better understand your tax return.
Feel like you’re paying more in taxes than necessary.
Own rental property and file a Schedule E.
Have income beyond a simple W-2.
Want to be proactive (not reactive) about taxes.
Prefer education over gimmicks or hype.
This workshop is educational and works well as a complement to broader financial or retirement planning.
This workshop focuses on clarity and strategy.
Rather than rushing through filing, Brian will help you understand:
What each major section of your return represents.
How different types of income are taxed.
Why certain deductions matter more than others.
Where planning opportunities typically appear.
How rental real estate changes the tax conversation.
In this workshop, you’ll explore ideas such as:
Why your refund (or bill) tells you very little.
The difference between tax preparation and tax planning.
How Schedule E income can create both opportunity and risk.
Why small changes can compound over time.
When it makes sense to coordinate tax strategy with investment and retirement planning.
The goal isn’t to promise savings. The goal is to help you see what’s possible.
